Hot or Cold

Your privacy

What the app stores

Hot or Cold uses your email and password to sign you in. Your profile includes your chosen display name, username, approved photos, and community activity. The service also stores ratings, favorites, blocks, messages, reports, and notifications needed to run the community. Do not put private information in public photos or captions.

What others can see

Your public profile, display name, username, approved photos, and aggregate ratings may be visible to other visitors. Your account email is not returned in public profiles. Messages are available to the participants. A person can see that you favorited them when you make a connection; your full favorites and block lists are account controls. Reports are available to authorized reviewers.

Service providers

Firebase handles account authentication. Neon stores app records. Vercel hosts the app and stores new photos. Photo reviews use an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway; the image is sent for content review before publication. Existing migrated photos may remain linked to their original storage. If paid passes are enabled, Stripe processes billing; Hot or Cold does not store complete payment card numbers.

Your controls

You can choose your active photo, remove photos, change favorites, block accounts, and delete your account in Settings. Account deletion removes your app profile, gallery records, ratings, favorites, and conversations. Related safety reports and records needed to enforce deletion or respond to abuse may be retained. Backups, caches, older storage copies, and copies another person saved may persist after removal.

Sessions and device data

The app uses browser storage to remember your login and cache its offline screen. Hosting and authentication providers may process technical information such as request logs, IP addresses, and device details to deliver the service and prevent abuse. Signing out ends your local app session.

Adults only

Hot or Cold is intended for adults 18 and older. Use the report control if you believe an account is underage or has shared someone else's private information. Policies and features may change; the current version is available on this page.
